Some of you may know a show called MAYUMANA presents BE (formerly known as BE by MAYUMANA or just BE), but most of you probably haven't even heard of it.  So let me fill you in.

What is MAYUMANA presents BE?
 It's a dance/percussive/performance piece.  Critics and viewers compare it to STOMP, Blue Man Group, Cirque De Soleil, and De La Guarda.

What makes it different?
The ethnic and cultural diversity!  MAYUMANA performs all around the world, so naturally the performers and style in which they perform is culturally diverse.  In this production of BE, cast members are from Israel, Switzerland, Spain, and the Ivory Coast to name a few!

What's with the name?
'Mayumana' is the loose Hebrew translation for 'skillful'.  And wow are the performers skillful!  They can do anything from BELLYDANCING TO FLAMENCO TO GYMNASTICS TO CONTORTION TO PLAYING INSTRUMENTS TO SINGING TO COMEDY TO BEAT-BOXING TO RAPPING and more.

Who loves this kind of show?
Singers, Dancers, Actors, Gymnasts, Contortionists, Street Performers, Israelis, Europeans, Kids and YOU hopefully!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO who am I?

I'm me!  22.  NYC chic.  Broadway nutcase.  Former/part-time  actor (for real dawg - I got a degree).  Blonde.  Very blonde.  And I have lots of theatrical friends... in fact basically all my friends are theatrical.  I lead a very dramatic life lol.  I like to interview the stars and creative teams of Broadway.  Right now I have three college friends on Broadway - all understudies (hey, we're babies).  One is playing Gelinda - 

Another Sebastian in The Little Mermaid - another is the cello player in Company (Stephen Sondheim musical).  Pretty cool.  I also have a bunch of friends in a show called Mayumana - it came over from Israel and is an AMAZING show if you get a chance to see it.  Recently, I've been hanging with the cast of The Fantasticks.  That's been particularly exciting for me, because the new star is a former American Idol finalist, Anthony Fedorov!

Who is Anthony Fedorov?


He's a sweet blonde haired, glasses wearing kid from PA.  He is best friends with Carrie Underwood (and at one time, he was rumored to be her boyfriend!).  He was a finalist on season four of American Idol - all the judges really liked him.  Ummmm yeah, if you want to know more, rent season four.  Or just check out some clips.  I have been dying to get to know him better myself.  I'm hopefully doing an online interview with him skweeeee but as far as video and pictures, I don't know.  I might have to be more of a guerilla journalist to get those goods.  Which don't worry dear viewer, I will. :)

PS Did you know Kristen Chenoweth was the star of The Fantasticks in 1996?  Neither did I!
